DuPont™ Artistri™ to Demonstrate New Grand Format Digital Textile Printing Systems at 2007 ISA Show

DuPont Imaging Technologies announced today that they will show their new grand format DuPont™ Artistri™ 3320 digital textile printer for the first time in North America at the upcoming ISA Show at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center, Las Vegas, Nev., (booth # 1236).

“The Artistri™ 3320 adds 3.3 meter wide printing capabilities that create new applications for the digital printing of textiles,” stated Mike Lazzara, global product manager for DuPont™ Artistri™. He adds, “We are now able to deliver beautiful printing on textile media as wide as 3.4 meters (over 11 feet) with a printable area of 3.3 meters (over 10 feet).”

The Artistri™ 3320 delivers the next generation digital printing platform for textile and graphic applications. With installations worldwide, the Artistri™ 3320 has expanded DuPont's established reputation for producing beautiful images on textiles. DuPont delivers a fully integrated system based on the Artistri™ 3320 printer, ink and software for the graphic arts textile marketplace.

“The Artistri™ 3320 system is our response to requests from customers and the industry for a grand format, production capable digital textile system that can print on a broad range of textiles. This system is targeted at applications such as tension fabric and trade show displays, banners and other graphic intensive applications where high-quality color reproduction and speed are needed,” stated Kathleen Hall, global business director for DuPont™ Artistri™. Hall concluded, “The ISA Show provides a great event to showcase our new system to the marketplace. This system compliments the high-quality standard already achieved by the Artistri™ 2020 printer and provides a solution for multiple markets and applications where a larger format output is needed.”

“We will be printing examples of extraordinary ultra-high-resolution images from the Gigapxl™ Project portfolio with our new grand format Artistri™ 3320,” said Lazzara. “These images represent a level of detail and clarity from the highest-resolution landscape camera ever created and have to be seen to be really appreciated.”

The Gigapxl™ Project is an effort that brings together the cutting edges of photographic optics, film technology, and digital processing to create beautiful landscape photographs which contain unprecedented amounts of information. Husband and wife team Graham Flint and Catherine Aves have for the past few years been perfecting this technical milestone of ultra-high-resolution imagery as they travel the United States capturing images measuring in the 4000 mega pixel range and higher. “We have been very impressed with the quality and fidelity of the Gigapxl™ images printed with the DuPont™ Artistri™ system,” stated Graham Flint. He added, “Printing on textiles adds a completely new dimension to our work and we are discussing entirely new ways in which we can showcase our images.”
