India's 95-km, 4-lane Ahmedabad-to-Vadodara (A-V) Expressway paved with Elvaloy® RET modified binder

A-V ExpresswayDuPont™ Elvaloy® RET was chosen as a binder modifier for India's first asphalt expressway, a 95-km, 4-lane artery connecting Ahmedabad and Vadodara. Friction course adhesion and rut resistance were main benefits achieved. The contractor reported easy mixing and compaction. Work included 29 bridge decks and approach ramps, and a toll plaza where the extra strength was applied full-depth, to help handle slow-moving traffic.

"We have found that the hot mix produced using Elvaloy® modified bitumen is easy to work with; compacts well; and behaves just like normal bitumen in pavement construction."
