How Do We Work to Return Life to Normal – After the Crash?

After a vehicle crash, emergency responders and occupants alike need a secure vehicle in which fuel systems are sealed and on board fire suppressant systems are ready to activate. Once the event is immediately over, the challenge is communicating with loved ones, and restoring the vehicle, if possible, to it’s original condition and perhaps better than that with updates to meet newer safety system standards. 

 
How can DuPont help?

Active fuel system components might be designed with DuPont electronic and engineering materials. Fire suppressant systems could include on-board extinguishers that activate at a certain temperature and deliver specialty chemicals to help extinguish a flame. And when it comes to repairing the vehicle, DuPont maintains an Assurance of Quality program for refinish paint at qualified body shops and supplies Suva® refrigerants for the air conditioning unit. Using that connection with body shops, DuPont could aid in getting properly certified and labeled replacement airbags for the repair job. Our materials and technologies would be suitable for black box detection devices that could help diagnose and speed the repair process.
