Family of DuPont™ Teflon® PFA Resins
For Wire and Cable Applications
DuPont™ Teflon® PFA 340
Teflon® PFA 340 is a general-purpose resin of intermediate molecular weight, mainly used for primary wire insulation in applications where good heat resistance is needed. Teflon® PFA 340 is suitable for extruded tubing, hose, electrical insulators, sleeving, industrial film, and injection-molded articles requiring superior electrical, chemical, and thermal properties. Teflon® PFA 340 is available in clear, 2.5 mm (0.1 inch) pellets.

DuPont™ Teflon® PFA 345
Teflon® PFA 345 is an extrusion and injection molding resin with good heat resistance and higher stress-crack resistance than Teflon® PFA 340. Teflon® PFA 345, with a melt-flow-rate of ~7, is an excellent choice for wire and cable insulation, injection-molded parts, and for linings in bellows, valves, fittings, pipes, and other fluid-handling components that require chemical resistance. Teflon® PFA 345 is available in clear, 2.5 mm (0.1 inch) pellets.

DuPont™ Teflon® PFA 3000
Teflon® PFA 3000 is a general-purpose resin that combines the processing ease of conventional thermoplastics with the ability to fulfill demanding end uses. Teflon® PFA 3000 is used when traditional extrusion and molding processes are required for producing products with the superior properties of a fluoropolymer resin.
Teflon® PFA 3000 combines high flow rate, high melt strength, stability at high processing temperatures, and resistance to creep at high service temperatures to provide a superior balance of end-use properties. Teflon® PFA 3000 also provides chemical inertness to nearly all industrial chemicals and solvents, exceptionally low dielectric constant, low dissipation factors, and resistance to ignition.
Teflon® PFA 3000 is available in clear, 2.5-mm (0.1-in.) pellets.

DuPont™ Teflon® PFA C-980
Teflon® PFA C-980 (perfluoroalkoxy) fluoropolymer resin combines the chemical and high-temperature resistance of other Teflon® PFA resins with antistatic levels of electrical conductivity. Teflon® PFA C-980 fluoropolymer resin can be processed by conventional thermoplastic techniques such as melt extrusion, compression, transfer, and blow molding processes.
Properly processed products using Teflon® PFA C-980 provide thermal stability at high processing temperatures along with chemical inertness to nearly all industrial chemicals and solvents. Molded products using Teflon® PFA C-980 have moderate stiffness, excellent toughness, low coefficient of friction, non-stick characteristics, resistance to creep at high service temperatures, and excellent weather resistance.
