This alliance focuses the two companies’ world-class science to meet customers’ demands for sustainable products with superior consumer performance.
DuPont is the manufacturer of Capstone™ repellent and release products, the key ingredient in fabric finishes that provide superior repellency and soil/stain release. And, as the owner of the Teflon® brand, DuPont is responsible for marketing Teflon® fabric protector to retailers, brand houses and consumers. Huntsman sells fabric finishes and provides technical support, including system packaging of compatible softeners, and resins to the mills/finishers.

Brand Assurance
Programs which promote the Teflon® fabric protector brand, including those that utilize DuPont supplied hangtags, customer created hangtags1, or on packaging1, must meet the following criteria :
The mill/finisher must have signed a Licensing Agreement for Teflon® fabric protector. This step must be completed in order to promote fabric with the Teflon® brand name.
Fluorochemical products (Zonyl®/Oleophobol®) from Huntsman must be applied to the fabric.
Global performance specifications must be met. These are outlined in the DuPont™ Teflon® fabric protector Global Specifications Book. Brand Assurance test data, conducted by Huntsman or approved testing laboratories, must be available upon request for every 50,000 yards of fabric or for all new programs.
1 Brand houses and retailers who promote the Teflon® trademark and create promotional materials (i.e., hang tags, labels, packaging, ads, etc) in which the Teflon® brand or logo is used to promote their goods must also sign a Trademark Usage Agreement with DuPont.
