People Profile: Peter
Working at DuPont is one of the most exciting career experiences I have had so far. Two of the best things here are the exposure to a truly dynamic business and working with a team of intelligent people. People are talking about the application of innovative technologies, expansion to emerging markets, and new acquisition deals... and, it is you who can make these exciting changes happen. People also work collaboratively and care for each other like a big family. The rich tradition combined with innovative spirit gives me a rewarding summer and a perfect career exploration for my future post-MBA development. The company's global presence and diversity can also provide broad international exposure and opportunities through its footprint all over the world.
During the summer, my first assignment was to help the platform management team prepare strategy review to top executives. I worked with CFOs in five SBUs, consolidating financial results and analyzing their strategic progress. This gave me a good chance to look into each SBU's business regarding its product offerings, market dynamics and strategic planning. Afterwards, I worked as a core team member to develop a strategy for the company's emerging fire protection business. Our objective was to match the market potential with the company's capability to create a growth strategy. Now I am up building up a financial evaluation model for a new business initiative in the consumer market, utilizing what I have learned in my major from the business school to the real field.
Being an MBA candidate with several years of work experience, I chose DuPont internship after serious considerations. DuPont has a great reputation as a leading science company with a strong brand name, good financial performance and outstanding business ethics. It is an excellent place for young professionals to develop managerial skills in a large organization, explore career interests among various functions and areas and build up networks with rich industry expertise.
