The DuPont Chambers Works facility was founded on the company's more than 200-year heritage of core values. These values - a commitment to safety, health and environmental stewardship; to integrity and high ethical standards; and to fair and respectful treatment of people - unite all of our more than 80 businesses and 60,000 employees around the world. Our core values are the foundation of our efforts to provide value to our stakeholders - our shareholders, our customers, our employees and our communities.
Safety, Health & Environmental Stewardship
At Chambers Works, the team adheres to the highest standards for the safe operation of facilities and the protection of the environment, employees, customers and the people of the communities in which we do business. Plant personnel work to strengthen our businesses by making safety, health and environmental performance an integral part of all business activities and by continuously striving to align operations with public expectations.
At DuPont, we believe that all injuries and occupational illnesses, as well as safety and environmental incidents, are preventable, and the goal for all of them is zero. Chambers Works promotes off-the-job safety for our employees. The company assesses the environmental impact of each facility proposed to be constructed and designed, built, operated and maintains all facilities and transportation equipment so they are safe and acceptable to local communities and protect the environment.
DuPont works to minimize waste generation at the source. Materials will be reused and recycled to minimize the need for treatment or disposal and to conserve resources. Where waste is generated, it is handled and disposed of safely and responsibly. The company will work to reduce emissions, giving priority to those that may present the greatest potential risk to health or the environment. Where past practices have created conditions that require correction, they will be corrected.
Chambers Works makes, uses, handles, packages, transports and disposes of materials safely and in an environmentally responsible manner. Site professionals continuously analyze and improve operational practices, processes and products to reduce their risk and impact through the product life cycle. Our staff strives to develop new products and processes that have increasing margins of safety for both human health and the environment. The team works with suppliers, carriers, distributors and customers to achieve similar product stewardship, and provide information and assistance to support their efforts to do so.
