Iron and Manganese Control

Iron and manganese concerns affect more water systems than almost any other quality issue and are the root cause of most customer complaints received by water facilities.  New regulations like the Stage One and Two Disinfection By-Product Rules (DBPs) limiting trihalomethanes (THMs) and haloacetic acids (HAAs), have severely curtailed the use of traditional chlorine treatment, resulting in the need to re-evaluate iron and manganese treatment strategies.  Chlorine dioxide offers a realistic solution to intermittent or year-round iron and manganese problems.
