Count on Secure Environmental Treatment (SET) to treat and dispose of your wastes—quickly, safely, and cost-effectively.

DuPont Clean Water Technologies operate the world's largest commercial industrial wastewater treatment facility at its Chambers Works site in Deepwater, New Jersey, where a wide range of aqueous wastes are accepted for treatment.

SET also offers an array of pretreatment options for the removal or neutralization of targeted waste stream constituents, as well as for the recycling of valuable organic components of process waste streams.

Pretreatment Options

SET provides pretreatment options to neutralize or remove the following constituents before final treatment of a waste stream:

  • Heavy metals precipitation
  • Sulfide pretreatment
  • Steam stripping of organics
  • Oil/water separation

Wastes Currently Accepted*

SET accepts most hazardous waste streams, including D, F, K, P, and U hazard waste codes for treatment and disposal. Specifically, we handle:

  • Priority pollutants (such as toluene, phenol, and methylene chloride)
  • Ignitables
  • Halogenated and nonhalogenated solvent/water mixtures
  • Organic acids
  • Oil/water mixtures
  • Metals
  • Oxidizers
  • Salts
  • Ammonia
  • Sulfide
  • Methyl mercaptan/dimethyl disulfide
  • Corrosives (acidic and alkaline)

Hazard Waste Codes Accepted

Please contact SET to find out if your specific waste code is acceptable for treatment at our facility.

Acceptable Waste Containers

SET will accept treatable wastes packed in tank trucks, railcars, barges, drums and totes.

Wastes Not Accepted

The following waste types are not currently accepted for treatment by SET:

  • TSCA-regulated (Toxic Substances Control Act) PCB waste
  • TSCA-regulated dioxin waste
  • Radioactive
  • Explosive
  • Not flowable

*Some restrictions may apply to pretreatments.
