Cromalin® Largo is driven by an all new Cromanet™ CS (Color Suite) color control and digital workflow server, which produce contract quality proofs with DuPont hardware, software, ink and specialty proofing media. The total package has been designed specifically to address the needs for high resolution proofing at a new low cost position. It is a true "plug and play" system which, incorporated into print production workflows, can improve approval cycles, turnaround times and proof-to-press accuracy. Cromalin® Largo is a perfect addition to the current high end DuPont™ Cromalin® drum based digital proofing systems, which continue to provide the highest possible color accuracy and are still the only proofing systems in the world with an integrated in-line spectrophotometer.
"We continue to value our customers input and the "voice of the market" telling us to develop new technologies that fill the demand for color accuracy at a lower price point," states Craig Reid, Global Marketing Manager, DuPont Color Communication. He adds, "The new Cromalin® Largo portfolio offers a new affordable operating cost, while producing a true Cromalin® quality proof and the added versatility of a wide format graphics printing system. By streamlining production workflows, saving time and money, the new DuPont solution makes Cromalin® more attractive to a larger number of proof producers from designers to printers and publishers."
The new Cromalin® Largo uses the latest drop-on-demand inkjet (DOD) technology with roll-fed proofing substrates. The DuPont expanded gamut pigment inks, DuPont media and output sizes have been tuned specifically to the needs of the graphic arts industry. Two Cromalin® Largo versions are now available, the Largo2406 with a 24" width for 4-up proofing, and the Largo4406 with a 44" width for 8-up signatures or wide format graphics. All systems include the DuPont™ Largo ink and award winning Cromanet™ color suite software.
Like all DuPont professional proofing and printing systems, the Cromalin® Largo incorporates the proven color management software, DuPont™ Cromanet™ CS. This offers a "closed loop" color calibration process that can be used to match virtually any proofing or press conditions consistently and accurately including difficult spot colors.
Craig Reid continues, "With this new open system you will have total control. DuPont has always delivered consistent proofing to an established print relevant standard, and this new system is no different. We have used our comprehensive color expertise, ink and media coating technologies along with proven software capabilities to provide consistent accurate color reproduction."
"The Cromalin® Largo fulfils a long standing need for accurate, low-cost proofing. We now feel that standard DOD technology has matured enough for us to adopt it for the Cromalin® brand – a brand that has always been associated with 100% color accuracy – and now is available to a much wider range of users," adds Reid.
Cromalin® Largo2406 and Largo4406 are now available for delivery through authorized DuPont distributors and dealers.
