The 8th Asia Pacific Responsible Care Conference (APRCC) was held recently in Korea. More than 400 people participated in the workshops and forums, including keynote speaker, Roger Moore, president, DuPont Safety Resources - Asia Pacific.

The seminar provided in-depth exposure to DuPont safety beliefs and practices and encouraged participants to incorporate safety messages into daily responsibilities. Through training, participants learned how safety can be integrated into management systems.

In his speech, "Responsible Care is Good Business Strategy," Roger discussed how Responsible Care has impacted DuPont. In terms of environmental protection, he showed our significant progress in achieving environmental and energy goals over the past decade. Roger also detailed how DuPont has increased business value by creating useful products from former waste, such as converting waste milk jugs into a material that can be used in DuPont™ Tyvek® envelopes.
"In the future, sustainability is becoming an expectation of key stakeholders. Bottom line benefits can be achieved when Responsible Care philosophy is integrated within business strategy." Additionally, safety improvement is beneficial to the company. "Even after two centuries, safety is still our first thought at DuPont," Roger said.
