The European Forum on Safety, held recently at the DuPont Europe headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland, rewarded this year's five finalists of the DuPont Safety Resources European Award.

Safety leaders applauded this year's overall winner, logistics group Deutsche Post World Net, for "Safe Hitchings Makes Good Sense" - an accident prevention program that coaches drivers for the company on safe methods of hitching trailers.

Since its launch, this safety program has led to a sharp drop in the number of accidents at Deutsche Post and no fatalities have been recorded.

DuPont Safety Resources, a business within DuPont Safety & Protection, is the authority on safe workplaces, providing consulting and training services in workplace safety, contractor safety, ergonomics and operational excellence. The group initiated the award in 2002 to stimulate individual and collective safety initiatives throughout Europe.
