Laurence O’Dwyer, DuPont Safety Resources, Asia Pacific, recently was invited to speak at a Contractors CEO Safety Seminar hosted by BHP Billiton (BHPB), positioning DuPont as BHPB’s safety benchmark. The event was held to help place safety improvement in a "good safety is good business" context.

As a result of Laurence’s participation and "safety benchmark" positioning, DuPont Safety Resources now is responding to requests for safety assistance from several contractor attendees including Sandvik, McConnell Dowell, Worley, Tomlinson, ThyssenKrupp and Roche JR. BHPB also has expressed increased interest in DuPont assistance with large construction projects, resulting in increased involvement with contractor safety management training and consulting.

DuPont has been invited to participate in the BHPB Global Project Management conference in Perth in May. BHP Billiton has 37,000 employees working in more than 100 operations in about 25 countries. As a premier global company, BHPB is an industry leader in major commodity businesses, including aluminum, energy coal and metallurgical coal, copper, manganese, iron ore, uranium, nickel, silver and titanium minerals.
