Mr. M's Residence in Japan
Once entering a building that looks like a grey box without any windows, your impression would be totally reverted - a bright and completely white interior makes the minimal space much more spacious. In the middle of the courtyard, there is a huge white box, which is a kitchen countermade of DuPont™ Corian®.
"When we build this new house, we want to find an architect who shares the same view with us. From the magazines, we have read the previous works by Mr. Ogawa, so when we requested him to design our house, we had already understood his style. We also know that Mr. Ogawa often uses Corian® Glacier White for kitchens" said Mr. M, the owner of the house. Mr. M has deep knowledge in architecture and design, and knows the material Corian®. "Mr. Ogawa has recommended Glacier White to create a texture like milk pudding, and I have been having the same feeling before. It is a combination of soft and hard, plus it would not be too bright."
"Maintenance is very easy, which is very suitable for residential use. It is stain-resistant, which makes my house-keeping easy" said Mrs. M. Apart from the kitchen, the lavatories, and the long study desk for the kids are also made of Glacier White.
