Kochia killer ready for action!

Spring wheat growers now have a new tool to control kochia (including Group 2-resistant biotypes), along with 20 other hard-to-kill broadleaf weeds: DuPont™ Harmony® K herbicide tank-mix.

“Harmony® K is a one-pass herbicide tank-mix that comes in one convenient box and will get tough weeds including Group 2-resistant kochia, wild oats and green foxtail” explains Travis Schoonbaert, Cereals and Oilseeds Product Manager for DuPont.

With four active ingredients from three groups, Harmony® K offers excellent control of kochia, even in heavy infestations and poor weather conditions.

“The three broadleaf active ingredients in Harmony® K are from Group 2 and Group 4 and all have significant activity on kochia, making the product an excellent resistance management tool,” he adds. Plus, it breaks down quickly in the soil and has no re-cropping restrictions the following year.

Harmony® K offers an early window of application, from the 2-5 leaf stage of the wheat. “Early kochia control is important -- the ideal time of application to maximize your yield potential is from the 2-4 leaf stage of the crop,” Schoonbaert adds.

Available in a 40-acre case, Harmony® K contains dry flowable product in water soluble Toss-N-Go® pouches, liquid product and adjuvant.

Harmony® K is the latest addition to the arsenal of broadleaf products from DuPont that are specialists in controlling the “Wildest Weeds of the West” – the top 17 annual broadleaf weeds that growers treat, according to Stratus market research. It will be available at crop protection retailers across Western Canada this spring.
