Manzate® Pro-Stick™ registered to protect 26 crops from disease

New Manzate® Pro-Stick™ fungicide has been registered and will be available to Canadian horticultural growers for the 2006 growing season, DuPont Canada announced today.

“Manzate® Pro-Stick™ is an important addition to the arsenal available to horticultural growers to help protect their crops against key diseases,” comments Alex Crouse, Specialty Marketing Manager for DuPont Canada. “This new fungicide helps protect against many of the major diseases of concern to Canadian growers such as apple scab and early and late blight in potatoes.”

“Manzate® Pro-Stick™ provides excellent leaf coverage and protection because of its uniform particle size,” Crouse explains.

The small, uniform particles break up faster and dissolve instantly in water without foaming. The result is a homogeneous mixture. The particles also stay in suspension longer to ensure consistent delivery of the active ingredient, mancozeb, to the leaf surface.

“Manzate® Pro-Stick™ really does stick to the leaf surface which provides improved disease protection as well as rainfastness,” Crouse adds.

Manzate® Pro-Stick™ fungicide has been approved for use on the following crops: apples, potatoes, cantaloupe, carrots, celery, field cucumbers, ginseng, melons, onions (dry bulb), pumpkin, watermelons, sugar beets, squash, field tomatoes (field and greenhouse), arborvitae, ash, Douglas fir, hawthorn, holly, ivy, juniper, oak, pine, sycamore, tobacco and wheat.

Manzate® Pro-Stick™ will be available in 20 kg bags from your local crop protection retailer this spring. Manzate® Pro-Stick™ should be used as part of an integrated pest management program, with applications every seven to 10 days during the growing season to help protect new growth and provide complete plant coverage.
