Kocide® 2000 fungicide approved for greenhouse pepper and tomato seedlings

DuPont   Kocide®  2000, a copper fungicide that provides more bio-available copper, has received a minor use approval for greenhouse pepper and tomato seedlings for transplant.

“This means greenhouse growers now have a new tool to control bacterial spot before the plants are moved out into the field,” comments Alex Crouse, DuPont Specialty Marketing Manager. “This is important because bacterial spot can be devastating to the crop.”

Kocide®   2000 is already a mainstay in the vegetable industry for control of key fungal diseases. It is registered for control of all strains of early and late blight in potatoes, early blight and septoria leaf spot in tomatoes and bacterial spot in (field) peppers.

Bio-available copper is the active component of a copper fungicide that provides disease control and is a direct measurement of product efficiency. “The higher the level of bio-available copper, the greater the efficiency of disease control,” Crouse explains. The advanced copper-fungicide technology provided in Kocide®   2000 provides excellent value because it delivers more active per hectare and therefore better disease protection versus previous formulations.

Kocide®   2000 is an advanced copper fungicide.  Its patented technology was developed to improve the availability of the copper hydroxide active through better dispersion, suspension and tenacity. The result is better disease control.
