New registrations for DuPont™ Triton® C include control of stork's-bill and round-leaved mallow

Cereal growers who need to control stork’s-bill or round-leaved mallow have a new choice this season: DuPont Triton C herbicide tank-mix is now registered for control of these weeds.  Triton C is already well-known for control of cleavers as well as other tough broadleaf weeds such as annual sow-thistle, narrow-leaved hawk’s beard, wild buckwheat and hemp-nettle.

“Growers currently do not have many options for controlling stork’s-bill and round-leaved mallow,” comments Travis Schoonbaert, Cereals and Oilseeds Product Manager for DuPont. “Triton C now gives them the control they need on these weeds as well as a broad range of other tough broadleaf weeds.”

Triton C has also added the suppression of volunteer flax to its label for this season.

In addition, Triton C can now be tank-mixed with Axial or with Everest® with or without 2,4-D. “Growers have been asking for these tank-mixes because they have a good fit with Triton C and there is no wild oat antagonism,” Schoonbaert says. Triton C can also be tank-mixed with Puma® Super and Horizon®.

Triton C controls cleavers up to four-whorls as well as 24 other broadleaf weeds in spring and durum wheat and feed barley.

With multiple modes of action for broadleaf control, Triton C is an excellent resistance management tool. It contains three active ingredients from two different groups (Groups 2 and 4), each of which has significant activity contributing to the control of cleavers.

“Adding new weeds and tank-mix combinations to the Triton C label demonstrates our ongoing commitment to increasing the value of this product to our customers,” Schoonbaert adds.
