Muster^® herbicide from DuPont Canada Crop Protection has received regulatory approval for use in oriental mustard. It has also received approval for an extended window of application in sunflowers – from the one-leaf to the 8-leaf stage of the crop.

“Muster^® now gives growers a tool for controlling wild mustard, flixweed, hemp-nettle and smartweed in oriental and brown mustard,” comments Travis Schoonbaert, DuPont Cereals and Oilseeds Product Manager.   Muster^® also suppresses stinkweed in mustard.

In sunflowers, the extended window of application provides greater flexibility to growers who are trying to manage ideal timing from the perspective of both the crop and the target weeds.

Muster^® is also registered for control of broadleaf weeds in conventional canola and can be tank-mixed with Assure^® II for one-pass grass and broadleaf control.

Spring wheat, durum, barley, oats and flax can be planted 10 months after the application of Muster^®.
