Group 5 herbicide.
Velpar® is a systemic herbicide that is absorbed through the roots and may demonstrate contact activity on foliage. Best results are obtained when Velpar® is present in the root zone during active growth of target weeds. The persistence of Velpar® in the soil is influenced by temperature, rainfall, soil type and organic matter. Do not use on gravelly or rocky soil that are sandy or coarse textured.
One (1) bag contains 2 Kg of product.
Refer to the label for each crop and use pattern.
Christmas tree plantations and forestry: Can be applied pre-emergent and post-emergent to control undesirable vegetation. Application to target vegetation before leaves are fully expanded is more effective than later treatments. Make a post-emergent application in Christmas trees prior to flushing (bud-break).
Highbush blueberries (Bluecrop variety, British Columbia only): Apply pre-bloom and spray before weeds are 30 cm (11.8 in) tall.
Lowbush blueberries: Apply in the spring after pruning (burning or mowing), but before the blueberries emerge. Post-emergent applications1 can be made in the spring of the fruiting year, no later than the early bloom stage of growth.
¹ Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and New Brunswick only.
Do not seed any field that has been treated with Velpar® until a successful field bioassay shows that the crop in question may be grown safely.
Refer to the Velpar® label for further details.
