Group 4 - neonicotinoid insecticide
Assail® works both through contact and ingestion. Insects become less active and stop feeding when exposed to Assail®, which minimizes or stops further damage to the host plants. It may, however, take a few days before the death of the target insect pest.
One (1) jug contains 340 g of product and is packaged in a convenient, wide mouthed plastic jug that includes a measuring guide (fill, but do not tap).
Refer to the table on page 6. Each jug treats 3.5 acres to 21.25 acres (1.4 ha to 8.6 ha) depending on the target pest and use rate. Higher rates extend the residual control for many species, which is especially important when prolonged egg hatch occurs. The length of residual depends on environmental factors, plant growth, dosage rate and degree of insect infestation. Thorough coverage is critical to obtain optimum control.
Begin applications when thresholds have been reached. Select the application rate to suit the crop and insect or multiple target insect species present. With a short pre-harvest interval, Assail® can be applied at virtually any time during the season – even late if necessary. Assail® can be applied by ground or by air (aerial application on potatoes in the Prairie Provinces only).
