Cooking Team Burns Competition

December 21, 2006 - The DuPont DeLisle Chili Cooking Team recently took top honors at the Bay St. Louis Rotary Club Chili Cook-off, Friday, December 8 at the American Legion Hall in Bay St. Louis.

Jeff Larson, Ginger Ladner, Greg Dossett, Karen Seiter and Berinda Logan cooked up the chili that took home the coveted Judge’s Choice Award, defeating more than 18 other teams of hopeful chefs.

Hundreds of local residents attended the lunch, donating money and tasting the various chili dishes created by all of the teams.

The DuPont team stood out from the crowd with their chili and addition of providing hot dogs, buns and all the fixins for those who preferred their chili smothered on the frankfurters and buns.

This same cooking team also took top honors earlier this year at a Relay for Life Red Beans and Rice Cook-off fundraiser winning the People’s Choice Award at that event.

The Rotary hosted the cook-off to raise funds to re-install lights around the walking track at Hancock Medical Center.
