DeLisle Plant Welcomes New Public Affairs Specialist

April 30, 2007 - DuPont DeLisle welcomes Ben Midgette, the plant’s new Public Affairs Specialist.  Ben joins us after 30 years at the DuPont Mobile crop protection products plant where he most recently worked in both the environmental and public affairs areas.

In his public affairs role in Mobile, Ben was instrumental in forming and maintaining the plant’s Community Advisory Panel, handling media relations, some governmental affairs work at the state and national level and extensive community outreach.  Ben performed crisis and media training for the Mobile plant’s Emergency Response Team and was a member of that team for several years.

In his new role at DeLisle, Ben will be involved in communications both in and outside the plant.  He will work to with the Community Advisory Panel and continue our positive relationships with area leaders and environmental groups.  He will work to develop an external communications plan as well as develop and maintain relationships with area media outlets and journalists.  He will handle all public affairs issues for the DeLisle plant.

He and his wife, Deborah, will be moving to the area in the near future.  They have two sons, Benjamin, who works for Exxon in England and John, who will be graduating from Auburn University this May.

Ben is looking forward to meeting site employees, working with the site CAP and becoming involved in the community in a way that will enable him to positively represent the site in this area.
