Pass Christian’s 8th Annual Boys & Girls Club Benefit Golf Tournament Raises $21,779
May 18, 2007 - The Boys & Girls Club (BGC) of Pass Christian hosted their 8th Annual Benefit Golf Tournament at the Pass Christian Isles Golf Club on May 18th. The event was held on a beautiful day and the event was a terrific success raising $21,779 for very important operational funds for the Pass Club.
The day began with lunch prepared by the DuPont Cooking Club and the ladies of the BGC Pass Christian Unit Board of Directors. After lunch everyone got ready for the Golf Ball Drop, which is a “split the pot” competition. This year’s pot reached $5950. The Harrison County Sheriff’s Department’s helicopter collected the bucket of balls and hovered over one of the nearby tees and dropped them to see which one landed closest to the hole. Half of the money went to the Club and the other half went to the winner David Baria. David plans to donate a portion of his winning back to the Pass Club.
