DeLisle Black Network Holds Awards Scholarships

June 14, 2007 - The DeLisle Black Network (DBN) awarded three $1000 scholarships and one $1500 scholarship at the annual DBN Scholarship Dinner on June 14th.  

The scholarships were presented to deserving African-American high school graduating seniors who wish to pursue higher education.  DBN understands the importance of education for the building of tomorrow and wish to invest in the student’s future by providing need-based scholarships to high school graduates from the South Mississippi area. 

The recipients of this year’s awards were:

  • Chadwick A. Moore
  • Brooke Jones
  • Kea Swanier
  • Lionel "Aaron" Saucier

Also, this was the first year the DBN introduced the Pat Nichols Scholarship.  The purpose for this scholarship is to give the student with the highest grade point average a check in the amount of $500.  Kea Swanier was the recipient of this additional award.

Joe Piernas was this year’s DBN Scholarship Chairpersons; Marc Holman and Joe presented the students with their award certificates.
