Mississippi Port Commission Approves 39-Month Agreement with DuPont
We are pleased that the Port Commission approved a 39-month agreement that will reinstate the Port of Gulfport as DuPont’s port facility for titanium ore unloading.
We believe that making the Port of Gulfport part of our short to mid-term port strategy will be beneficial to both the Port and to DuPont now that our business is back to pre-Katrina operating rates. At the same time, the temporary nature of this agreement will provide the community with greater flexibility as the long-term vision of the Gulfport waterfront is developed further.
DuPont is committed to our DeLisle manufacturing facility and the titanium dioxide business. We have made significant investment post-Katrina to rebuild and provide relief support to our employees and other Mississippians in our surrounding communities.
