DuPont Display Enhancements Introduces Four New DuPont™ Vertak® Direct Bonding Adhesives
New Optical Bonding Adhesives Now Available for a Wider Range of Applications and for Automated Equipment
DuPont Display Enhancements, Inc. today introduced four new products to its industry-leading Vertak® family of optical bonding adhesives. DuPont™ Vertak® bonding adhesives enhance display performance resulting in some of the most durable, aesthetically pleasing and sunlight readable displays available in the market.
The new DuPont™ Vertak® bonding adhesives address customer needs to meet the ever-increasing performance requirements of today’s Liquid-Crystal Displays (LCDs) and can be used in a broader range of glass and plastic substrates, while supporting all touch sensor technologies. Additionally, the new Vertak® adhesives have properties that meet high volume capacity requirements for automated direct bonding equipment.
“We are excited to be responding to customer feedback by enhancing the Vertak® line-up with these innovative products,” said William S. Bandel, global business manager, DuPont Display Enhancements. “Now customers are able to apply the proven performance of Vertak® bonding technology to a wider range of applications and substrates, while still meeting the demands of their automated manufacturing requirements.”
The four new DuPont™ Vertak® products are:
- DuPont™ Vertak® DBA2110:
- Bonds to glasses as well as a wide range of plastic substrates and touch sensors.
- Resistant to pooling and mura.
- Withstands operating temperature conditions from −35ºC to 110Cº.
- Highly reworkable.
- DuPont™ Vertak® DBA2210:
- All the benefits of DBA2110 plus higher adhesion strength.
- Limited reworkability.
- DuPont™ Vertak® DBA2120:
- All the benefits of DBA2110 plus higher viscosity levels beneficial for use in automated equipment.
- DuPont™ Vertak® DBA2220:
- All of the benefits of DBA2110 plus higher adhesion strength, and increased viscosity beneficial for use in automated equipment.
- Limited reworkability.
DuPont Display Enhancements distributes its adhesive products through direct sales, as well as licensing of its proprietary direct bonding process. The business also provides bonding and customer training services at its Shenzhen, China, bonding facility.
DuPont™ Vertak® bonding technology combines a proprietary lamination process with a DuPont proprietary adhesive to optically bond a variety of substrates to the front of a liquid-crystal display. It is useful in applications requiring outdoor viewability and the durability to withstand impact, vibration, temperature extremes, high humidity levels, altitudes and dust. DuPont™ Vertak® technology enhances display performance by improving sunlight readability up to 400 percent and impact and scratch resistance up to 300 percent. It has been successfully implemented on displays used in notoriously tough and challenging environments of the avionics, marine, military and medical industries, and is viewed as a key technology for emerging products requiring a durable, yet lighter and thinner application. The optically clear Vertak® bonding adhesives combine the benefits of silicone and epoxy and are highly resistant to yellowing, delamination, mura and bubble formation.
DuPont Display Enhancements has been driving advancements in optical bonding for LCD displays through its DuPont™ Vertak® bonding and adhesive materials, services and bonding process know-how for over 10 years. With extensive experience in the development, manufacture, sale, licensing and support of display enhancement solutions, DuPont Display Enhancements enables displays to be used across a wide variety of LCD applications.
