On 28 October, the Runners Club De Mol in Dordrecht, the Willem de Zwijger College in Papendrecht and the Musical Association Crescendo in Sliedrecht received a donation from the DuPont Community Fund. The donations were presented at the DuPont site in Dordrecht.

DuPont donates more than 4,000 Euros for children with an appetite for reading
Dordrecht, 8 October 2009 – In the presence of dozens of students, three primary schools at industrial area ‘De Staart’ in Dordrecht received a cheque of 4,350 Euros from DuPont for the project Success Books, Books for Success. By means of this project, the schools and the Dordrecht public library want to promote reading among students and their parents in order to create an appetite for reading that is as big as that of The Very Hungry Caterpillar.

DuPont Dordrecht sees Abraham
Dordrecht, March 4 2009 – This year DuPont Dordrecht sees Abraham. The founding charter of the Dutch branch of the American company was signed in February 1959. Dordrecht was the first location in the Netherlands. “This milestone is an important moment to thank all our past and present employees for their contribution to the company, as well as our partners in the Dordrecht area and beyond”, says site manager Gordon Tait.

Application for work time shortening granted
Dordrecht, January 21 2009 – The ministry of Social Affairs and Employment has granted the application of DuPont Dordrecht for a 30 percent work time shortening. The work time shortening will be effective until March 1 iuncluded. Approximately 900 people work at DuPont Dordrecht. The employees will receive training in the hours coming available through work time shortening.

DuPont Dordrecht reduced CO2 emissions through cooperation with HVC waste processing
HVC waste processing Dordrecht and DuPont Dordrecht have signed a declaration of intent enabling DuPont to reduce CO2 emissions by approximately 25 percent. For that purpose, DuPont will purchase steam from its neighbor HVC waste processing as of 2010. The signing of the declaration of intent took place May 16 during the official opening of the ‘Dordt in Stoom’ (Dordt in Steam) event. DuPont will save at least 50 kilotons of CO2 annually, equaling the emissions of 15,000 medium-sized cars per year.
