DuPont Dordrecht sees Abraham
This year DuPont Dordrecht sees Abraham. The founding charter of the Dutch
branch of the American company was signed in February 1959. Dordrecht was the
first location in the Netherlands. "This milestone is an important moment
to thank all our past and present employees for their contribution to the
company, as well as our partners in the Dordrecht area and beyond", says
site manager Gordon Tait.
In presence of Richard Wiley ,director operations EMEA of Du Pont de Nemours
International SA, the celebration of the 50th anniversary of DuPont
Dordrecht took off. A banner with the text ‘DuPont 50 years safely at work in
Dordt’ was unveiled by two employees with over 43 years of service each and
two employees hired in January 2009. All 900 employees received a special cake.
DuPont Dordrecht started production in 1962 with Orlon®. Today it produces
Delrin®, Isceon®, Surlyn®, Teflon® and Viton® to mention a few.
