What is the DuPont process for innovation?

DuPont invests more than $1 billion a year on research and development (R&D) in multiple disciplines and is home to one of the world's largest industrial R&D facilities, the Experimental Station. The result of such sustained R&D efforts is discontinuous innovation, the sudden appearance of a major breakthrough in technology that can yield entirely new products, processes, or services. Results occur only after great difficulty and long perseverance, and involve the interaction of technological research and market development. Collaborative R&D with other companies, and the licensing of intellectual assets (property) are also increasingly playing a role in the process.

For more perspective on our approaches to technical development, see DuPont Science.

What are the DuPont employment practices?

DuPont is an equal opportunity employer. To be considered for employment with DuPont in the United States, you must be at least 18 years of age and a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee, or temporary resident under the legalization program of the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986 (IRCA). Temporary residence status does not include individuals in nonimmigrant status or those with temporary work authorization, such as students in practical training status. DuPont does not normally sponsor foreign citizens to obtain a work visa or permanent residency. In support of a safe workplace, DuPont requires all offers of employment to be contingent on satisfactory pre-employment drug test results.
