WILMINGTON, DEL, 25 January 2007 - DuPont™ Surlyn® ionomer resin is playing a key role in the first annual global tour of artistically rendered doves of peace symbolizing the high ideals of peace and solidarity that people of every race and religion share.

The artistic project called PEACEY THE DOVE OF PEACE was kicked-off in Assisi, Italy, a city globally symbolic for peace, during the 2006 holiday period. The artistic installation of 5’000 doves was intended to create visual and emotional impact.  After the first appearance in Assisi, the doves of peace will travel around the world to major cities which have accepted the invitation to promote peace by repeating the installation in their cities.

The doves were produced using Surlyn® resin covered with a phosphorescent material to create a particular effect of luminescence after a short exposure to light. Surlyn® was chosen for the transparency, glass-like effect, chemical resistance and flexibility it offers in packaging applications, from cosmetic & personal care to food & beverage.

PEACEY was conceptualized by Ugo Nespolo, very respected Italian contemporary artist and produced by GBang Inc., an Italian company that specializes in the organization and management of events. 

GBang Inc. is in Spoleto, Italy, the “one stop shop” that provides support for worldwide events such as Peacey – The Dove of Peace.
