Packaging

Elvax® EVA resins come in a wide range of packaging film and coating grades. They combine tough, low-temperature sealability with excellent clarity, cling, flexibility, impact and puncture resistance. Easy processability at low temperatures results in energy savings and trouble-free processing. Also available are grades designed for molded or extruded liner seals inside plastic and metal bottle caps.

Photovoltaic Encapsulants

DuPont is the world's leading supplier of clear, durable polymers used as encapsulants in solar cells. For this application, DuPont™ Elvax® resins typically are converted into curable sheet form.

Footwear

DuPont™ Elvax®  EVA resins find widespread use in shoes, primarily as foamed midsoles.

Hose & Tube

Elvax® resins are flexible, resilient and tough over a broad temperature range and have excellent resistance to flexural fatigue and environmental stress cracking. With low odor and no need for plasticizer, Elvax® resins can offer advantages versus plasticized vinyls and compounded rubbers, especially in food contact such as tubing for beverage dispensers. Other end-use examples include hoses for swimming pools, heavy duty vacuum cleaners and ice rink cooling systems.

Wax Blends and Adhesives

Elvax® blended with a petroleum wax and resin tackifier is the basis of many hot melt adhesives. In addition, Elvax® resins impart plastic-like properties that enable wax to compete effectively with high-quality polymeric coatings.

Wire & Cable

Elvax® resins with low vinyl acetate (VA) content can be compounded into primary insulation of UL listed, type XHHW building wire. Grades with medium VA content often are used as semicon conductor shields, and in type GXL automotive primary wire, motor lead wire and appliance wiring. Higher VA grades can used in tough, heat resistant jackets for automotive ignition and low-smoke cables, or as strippable semicon insulation shields.
