How important is insulation material selection when repairing a motor?

Insulation material could make the difference in delivering superior performance during overloads. That's why so many motor repair shops use DuPont™ Nomex® insulation materials in their rewinds.

In its various forms, Nomex® insulation provides an ideal balance of properties for use in motors, generators, transformers and other electrical equipment. And, within the family of Nomex® products - papers, pressboards, laminates, creped papers and non-wovens, as well as fabricated parts and specialized forms, such as slot liners and wedges – you will probably find a solution to meet your particular requirements. The unique balance of properties and broad range of products available within the Nomex® product line have been used by motor repair shops and their customers for more than 35 years.

Nomex® papers have high levels of electrical, chemical and mechanical integrity, which make them well-suited for electrical insulation applications. Used properly, Nomex® papers may prolong the life of electrical equipment and help reduce premature failures and repairs in electrical stress situations.

When your customers see that their motors were rewound with insulation materials of Nomex® papers, and when they experience how well their motors perform, they'll realize the benefits of specifying high-quality insulation materials in their rewound and new motors, and they'll appreciate your decision to use only the best materials when repairing the equipment they entrust to you.

How will your customers know which insulation material is inside their motors?

When your customers see the labels on their motors, they'll know they have been rewound using some of the finest insulation materials available: those made from 100% DuPont™ Nomex® technology. These labels also signify that the motor repair shop responsible for the rewind is a member of the Motor Repair Alliance Program.
