RSUMe™, the methyl ester of 2-fluorosulfonyldifluoroacetic acid, is a useful fluoro-reagent for trifluoromethylation reactions. RSUMe™ is a colorless liquid with a long shelf life that offers process chemists a convenient and flexible method to introduce a trifluoromethyl group by reaction with suitably substituted aryl, allyl, or vinyl halides in the presence of a copper catalyst.
