John A. Dottore is the Program Manager, U.S. Military Ballistic Protection, DuPont Protection Technologies (DPT). In his role as program manager, John is responsible for market strategy and business development for DuPont in the U.S. Military ballistic protection business, better known as the Kevlar® brand, to help protect the Warfighter. These applications include body armor, helmets, tactical plates and other personal protective equipment. To successfully drive innovation, he captures “voice of the customer” throughout the needs/requirements/solicitation phases, and “translates” this into new product development via leading cross-functional product teams. Additionally, John supports Government Affairs and Marketing initiatives to help drive government business development strategy for DPT.
John joined DuPont in 1980, and has held various roles in Applications Research, Process Engineering, Supply Chain Management, and Marketing/Business Development. From 1994 - 2003, John supported the Kevlar® Law Enforcement business at DuPont, by leading a cross-functional team to deliver protection to Law Enforcement and Corrections officers. John is a previous awardee of the DuPont Marketing and Sales Excellence Award, for his role in introducing Kevlar® Correctional™ technology to provide concealable body armor protection to correctional officers. He has a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Dayton.
