DuPont Printed Circuit Materials Introduces New Riston® LaserSeries Films

New Laser Direct Imaging Films Deliver on Demanding Printed Wiring Board Applications at 355 & 405 nm

DuPont Printed Circuit Materials, part of DuPont Electronic Technologies, has announced the introduction of two new Laser Direct Imaging (LDI) dry film photoresists for the production of advanced printed wiring boards (PWBs).  DuPont™ Riston® LDI7200 dry film photoresist is designed for use with 355 nanometer (nm) LDI equipment and is ideal for plating applications.  DuPont™ Riston® LDI8000 has been developed for use with 405 nm light sources.  As PWB fabricators invest millions of dollars in LDI equipment to help reduce cycle time and produce more sophisticated designs, specialized films such as the Riston® LDI series are essential to optimize their investment, throughput and yields.

Developed in Japan, DuPont™ Riston® LDI7200 dry film photoresist is optimized for 355 nm laser direct imaging equipment.  LDI7200 is designed to combine enhanced adhesion and precise plating, with clean and fast stripping to achieve increased productivity.  DuPont™ Riston® LDI7200 series films incorporate Riston® clean developer technology which improves yields and reduces operating costs.

Riston® LDI8000 was designed for 405 nm LDI equipment, with fast photospeed (13mJ/cm2~) and excellent resolution with wide exposure latitude.  It features good conformity, a vivid printout image and strong tenting with excellent hold time stability.  Development work continues for DuPont in the 405 nm area.

Riston® LDI7200 and LDI8000 are the newest additions to the broad and growing Riston® LaserSeries product portfolio, which also includes LDI300 and LDI500 films for ultra-fast exposure and high productivity, and LDI7000 for high resolution tent and etch applications.
