DuPont Knowledge Center, Hyderabad
DuPont has its first integrated R&D and knowledge science center, the DuPont Knowledge Center (DKC) located in Hyderabad in 2008. This is the sixth of the seven DuPont global R&D centers outside the US. The center focuses to deliver science-based innovation that helps address key global megatrends. It will leverage the brain power of Indian talent in diverse science and engineering disciplines for the benefit of customers and stakeholders.
The center undertakes basic R&D work in key areas such agricultural and industrial biotechnology, development of new materials application for the Indian market and support global DuPont engineering competency by providing integrated engineering, procurement and construction services. DKC will provide R&D application development capability in India and the surrounding Asia Pacific region to support the long term growth objectives of the company.
Currently, about 350 scientists, engineers and other employees work out of this center. They will work closely with more than 8500 scientists and engineers of DuPont located around the world. The facility is designed in a manner to double in size over a period of time with the addition of new labs and areas of research.
Located in the ICICI Knowledge Park in Shameerpet, Hyderabad, the DuPont Knowledge Center houses three major centers. 1) Biotechnology Research Center, is the first integrated agricultural and industrial biotechnology laboratory operated by DuPont outside the US. 2) Material Research & Application Development Center, focuses on development of new materials protect people, critical processes and the environment and create sustainable buildings. 3) The Engineering Center, supports the global DuPont engineering competency by providing integrated engineering, procurement and construction services to DuPont global businesses.
