DuPont launches new office in Ahmedabad as part of its growth strategy in India

Focus on collaborations with local customers to develop science-based applications for key growth markets 

Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India, August 06, 2012: DuPont today announced the opening of a new office in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, as part of its expansion plans for India. The new office will focus on working collaboratively with local customers and developing science-based applications in emerging growth segments of food processing, automotive and auto-components, renewable energy solutions, packaging, chemicals & pharmaceuticals industries, and others.

DuPont will leverage its global R&D, technology and innovation networks, including the DuPont Knowledge Center in Hyderabad and DuPont India Innovation Center in Pune, to develop local applications and solutions and shorten their time-to-market for its customers in the emerging industrial clusters of Gujarat. The DuPont global science network comprises 9,500 scientists, chemists and engineers working in 100 R&D and technical and innovation centers around the world.

Announcing the launch of the new office, Dr. Rajeev Vaidya, President – south Asia, DuPont, said, “At DuPont, our growth strategy is focused on delivering science-powered solutions to address the key global challenges of feeding the world, reducing dependence on fossil fuels and protecting people and the environment. India is a strategic growth market for DuPont. The opening of the Ahmedabad office    today comes within less than a year of the opening of DuPont India Innovation Center at Pune in 2011 and a new office in Bangalore in February 2012. Earlier in 2008, the company had set up a world class DuPont Knowledge Center in Hyderabad. Gujarat has played a key role in the DuPont growth journey in the country since the setting up of the Indian subsidiary in 1994. The company’s largest manufacturing plant in India was opened at Savli near Vadodara in 1995.
