DuPont Services Center at a Glance

DuPont has invested in a fully owned subsidiary that provides centering and offshore capability to the businesses and functions of DuPont worldwide. The establishment of DSCI is consistent with the objective of Industry Leading Productivity. Various functions and business groups have benefited from centering critical functions and processes in DuPont. Our objective is not just providing gains on labour arbitrage, but also facilitiating standardization and simplification of processes and systems for DuPont Business and Functions. This is being achieved by developing and retaining critical knowledge and skill, improving efficiency, and enhancing the value of services offered.

 

CSCI                        
DuPont India’s integrated Customer Service Centre (CSCI) is located within DSCI to provide customer centric commercial support to DuPont India’s strategic business units. The team handles the complete Commercial and Customer Order Fulfillment for all SBUs in India. CSCI also has a Regional Support Team for the P&IP Business, catering to customers in the ASEAN, ANZ and Korea region.

DMS                         
Data Management Services (DMS) at DSCI is a part of Global Data Management Services team which covers teams in Spain, Brazil & Gurgaon and a part of DuPont One Data. DMS manages data and information as a critical, competitive asset for DuPont. It manages DuPont master data globally for the vendor domain using DuPont SAP along with other supporting applications like Lotus Notes & web-cycle for consistent creation / updating of vendor master data, and implements standardized processes and guidelines for progressive management of master data.

Finance                   
DSCI Finance is an element of DuPont India strategy to fully leverage the India advantage. Beginning its journey way back in Sep 2007, DSCI Finance has grown to over 300 staff, delivering Quality, Cost Effective Services and Contributing to the bottom-line. Current processes in Finance include, Inter Co accounting, Accounts Payable, Expense Reporting and Closing / reporting tasks providing services to global accounting processes for over 200 DuPont sites across 6 continents, with round-the-clock operations spanning multiple time zones.

Each process is being developed as a Center of Excellence (CoE) organization(s) having clearly assigned ownership and responsibility with appropriate leadership. Each also maintains detailed metrics for tracking process efficiency and effectiveness including TAT, quality and accuracy.

Sourcing                
The Sourcing team at DSCI is an integral part of the S & L Organization in DuPont providing support to the DuPont Buying Team & various sites across North America for more than 3 years. The projects that the sourcing team handles are extremely complex & diversified; they are categorized under 2 broad areas which are Strategic Support & Spot Orders.

Strategic Support Team works closely with the Strategic and corporate Buyers and assist them in creating new agreements, amending existing agreements, renewal of agreements and some reports that help them make strategic decisions. We also support buyers on eContracts, eNegotiations, Reverse Auctions. We work closely with accounts payable to ensure webcycles are resolved and other supplier issues to facilitate timely payment to the suppliers.

Spot Order Team processes the requisitions coming from sites for different commodities and in various systems spread across North America. This entails negotiating with the suppliers on price and payterm and ensuring that the order is at site when they want it. This team has evolved and enhanced it’s capability to provide expediting, lead time and release support to operations. The team is also working very closely with the Inventory Management Team (IMP) to maximize the saving opportunity by way of the Virtual Warehouse Project.

The DSCI Sourcing Team has received the Global S & L award for the year 2008 for contributing towards hard saving of $6 to $7 Million/year. The Team is marching towards achieving a Savings of $3 Million, In 2010.

Employees: The DSCI Services Center has a current human resources capability of over 600 including staff on contract. With the expansion of the new wing due in November 2010, the resource capacity would increase to 850. DSCI is the fastest growing site across DuPont. The staff is young (average age of 26), highly educated (99% are Graduates or higher), and focused on superior performance, making outstanding contributions to the quality of work and cost savings in the businesses they support. 

Facilities:The DuPont Services Centre is located in the posh DLF Cybercity complex in Gachbowli, Hyderabad. Besides the capacity for nearly 850 resources to work from, with Town Hall (capacity of 300 in the making), Video Conferencing, well equipped Medical Room (Managed by visiting Post Graduate Doctors and full time Graduate  Nurse), it provides cafeteria Sports & Games, Lockers for personal deposits, adequate fire proof storage, industry leading transport facility etc making it a preferred employer in the BPO Industry.
