DuPont is increasing its global KEVLAR® supply capacity by 10% with an expansion project at the Maydown, Northern Ireland site which is scheduled to come on stream in 2006. Global demand for DuPont™ KEVLAR® brand fiber has soared with the need for safety and security worldwide. This increase is another one in a series of expansions to help continue to meet the growing needs of customers in all regions and across the entire KEVLAR® product line.
DuPont is continuing its investment strategy for high-performance fibers with a multi-product, multi-region expansion plan for its high-performance Nomex® brand fiber that will deliver a step change increase in worldwide capacity. The company expects to invest more than $100 million in the three-part expansion that is scheduled to begin rolling out in phases later this year.
