DuPont Supports the National Law Enforcement Museum
“The construction of the National Law Enforcement Museum will honor the men and women who protect us every day, and, in some cases, who have given their lives so that we may live in a safer world.”
— DuPont Chairman and CEO Charles O. Holliday, Jr.
Safety is a core value for DuPont, and has been since our founding in 1802. Throughout our history, we have worked to protect law enforcement and military officers from the hazards they face daily. DuPont™ Kevlar® is just one of the many brands of products the company provides to keep these heroes safe.
That’s why we are proud to be partnering with the law enforcement community to help build the National Law Enforcement Museum, scheduled to open in Washington, DC in 2009. Celebrating the contributions made by police and corrections officers throughout the history of the United States, the facility will feature hands-on activities, state-of-the-art interactive technology and rotating educational installations exploring the past, present and future of law enforcement in this country. At its heart will be the “Wall of Remembrance,” where visitors will find mementos and stories of fallen officers.
DuPont is contributing a wide-reaching package of products, services and support toward the construction of the museum. We also helped create the National Law Enforcement Officers’ Memorial, located across the street from the museum site.
The National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund oversees both the memorial and the museum. Visit their site to learn more about these tributes to the men and women who keep our communities safe.
