Kevlar® Correctional™

DuPont™ Kevlar® Correctional™ technology addresses the specific threats that corrections officers face every day they're on the job—assaults perpetrated with shanks, awls, ice picks and handmade knives. Lightweight and flexible, protective vests made with Kevlar® Correctional™ are designed to provide comfort for the full duration of a shift, and are thin enough to conceal under uniforms.

The key to the outstanding puncture resistance of Kevlar® Correctional™ is superfine Kevlar® fiber. When an improvised stabbing instrument (but not a commercially-made knife, such as a stiletto) strikes the material, the fibers prevent passage through the body armor by dissipating the energy and restricting the instrument from pushing the fibers apart.
