Now that the U.S. Congress has approved legislation authorizing the National Law Enforcement Memorial Fund (NLEOMF) to build a comprehensive law enforcement museum opposite the Memorial, DuPont is once again re-affirming its commitment of support to the Memorial Fund.  DuPont™ KEVLAR®  is proud of its long-term support and involvement with NLEOMF, the private nonprofit organization that manages the National Law Enforcement Memorial and Visitors Center in Washington, DC.

“Through our unique science and technology capabilities, DuPont has a long tradition of helping protect those who protect us,” said DuPont Chairman and CEO Charles O. Holliday, Jr. “The construction of the National Law Enforcement Museum will honor the men and women who protect us every day, and, in some cases, who have given their lives so that we may live in a safer world.”

The new museum will become the premiere source of information on issues related to law enforcement history and safety. This $80 million dollar project will help educate the public on the value and heritage of law enforcement as a noble profession in our society. The museum will also pay tribute to and commemorate those law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty.

For the next several years DuPont will be increasing its contribution to the Memorial Fund and its efforts to secure the finances required to build the museum. Last year, DuPont announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with the National Law Enforcement Museum Fund whereby DuPont would contribute a substantial package of products, services and financial support towards the construction and financing of the National Law Enforcement Officers Museum.

All of us at DuPont encourage other companies with strong business ties to law enforcement to consider a similar commitment to the new museum. The lasting tribute to the men and women of law enforcement represented by this museum is truly a worthwhile investment.
