From the Vietnam era through engagements in the Balkans, Afghanistan and Iraq, DuPont™ Kevlar® has helped protect soldiers from serious or even fatal injuries. From helmets to gloves to anti-mine boots, vehicular armor to heavy duty protection such as the cupola protective ensemble (CPE) and Explosive Ordnance Disposal (bomb) suits, Kevlar® technology has a wide range of military applications.

Kevlar® KM2® technology provides enhanced fragmentation resistance, along with substantially improved bullet protection. Today's helmets made with Kevlar® are 10% to 20% more resistant to fragments than the previous generation of helmets made with Kevlar®. And Kevlar® materials offer high chemical and flame resistance, while remaining comfortable and breathable enough for the challenges of combat.
