Du Pont China Holding Company Limited today hosted a grand opening for DuPont (Shenzhen) Industrial Company Limited in Shenzhen Futian Free Trade Zone, its second production base in the City. The grand opening marks the production startup of two new facilities, namely DuPont Liquid Packaging Systems, part of DuPont Agriculture & Nutrition Platform and DuPont Displays, a business in the DuPont Electronics & Communication Technologies Platform.

The opening of DuPont (Shenzhen) Industrial Company Limited is an important element of the DuPont new investment strategy in China since its completion of a global transformation in 2004. Back in 1988, DuPont established Du Pont China Holding Company Limited in Shenzhen Che Gong Miao Industrial District and started production the following year. In 2005, DuPont established the second production base in Shenzhen, within the Futian Free Trade Zone, and introduced two sophisticated manufacturing facilities to China.

For the DuPont Liquid Packaging Systems business the new manufacturing facilities symbolize significant advances for them in Asia Pacific. The new DuPont Liquid Packaging Systems facility is also a first for DuPont in the Pacific Rim, initially focusing on the production of bulk aseptic bags for the preservation and transportation of processed fruits such as apple juice concentrate and tomato paste. It plans to provide an extensive range of liquid packaging solutions to customers within the Asia Pacific region.

Mr. Stewart Graves, Business Director of DuPont Liquid Packaging Systems in Europe and Asia said in the opening ceremony that "DuPont Liquid Packaging Systems has been supplying into the Asia Pacific region for over 10 years. In recent years we have experienced a significant increase in the demand for our products in China. The new Shenzhen facility demonstrates the continued commitment of our business to the region's food industry, by providing a wide range of liquid packaging solutions to our customers in China and beyond."
