DuPont Coating & Release Systems introduces two new mold release coatings for rubber molders
Designed to provide an alternative to semi-permanent release agents, TraSys® 258 and TraSys® 146 are bake-on release coatings that provide significantly more heats before touch-ups, while not sacrificing tool cleaning and release characteristics. TraSys® 258 is solvent-base for application at ambient temperature while TraSys® 146 is water-based for hot mold applications. Both products provide superior performance on SBR, nitrile, neoprene, natural rubber and a variety of silicone elastomers where multiple cavity molds are used. These bake-on release coatings are proven to release for multiple days and in some cases, weeks. The finished bake-on coating is extremely durable which eliminates the chance for transfer.
