TraSys® Water-Based Semi-Permanent Release Coatings for Rotational Molding Application Instructions

Water-Based Mold Release Recommended Procedure

  1. Preheat mold to approximately 54°C (130°F) or hot to the touch.
  2. Apply the DuPont mold release with a clean cotton cloth or by spray. Apply a light to medium coating, ensuring that all mold surface areas are completely coated.
  3. Cure the release by heating the mold surface to 132-149°C (270-300°F). This can be easily accomplished by baking the mold empty through one complete production cycle.

By following general rotational molding guidelines and with proper application, problems such as sticking and warping are minimized.
