DuPont Microcircuit Materials for biomedical applications are designed for use in medical monitoring, diagnostics, drug delivery, and environmental sensors. 

Biomedical applications are unique in that different enzymes, designs of strips and sensors, and different manufacturing processes require a high degree of customization, consistent quality, and high through-put. Products include:

  • Electrically conductive compositions including silver, gold, and carbon for lines and contact pads
  • Silver/Silver Chloride compositions used as electrodes for amperometric sensors, potentiometric sensors, and iontophoretic drug delivery devices.
  • Precious metal-based compositions for working electrodes in amperometric sensors used in analyte detection.
  • Compositions with ceramic Green Tape™ used in heart pacemakers, hearing aids and other medical devices (consistent with our Medical Applications Caution Statement).
