Pre-MBA experience:

Prior to business school, I spent approximately 10 years in the chemical industry with a Fortune 500 company in a variety of sales, marketing and product management roles.

Why did you join DuPont?

DuPont offered an opportunity to leverage my MBA education with my prior professional experience. The MLDP program gives me the chance to see many different aspects of the corporation in a very short period of time. The ability to globalize my experience with overseas rotations, the individual mentoring offered by senior leaders and the commitment of program management to provide important assignments all factored into my decision to join the company. DuPont is on the leading edge of science and technologies in many different arenas, and the opportunity to move concepts from the lab to commercialization is an exciting prospect.

Your experience at DuPont and the MLDP.

My first assignment was with the global business development group for DuPont's Automotive Coatings Group. The focus of our team was to look for global business opportunities outside of our current business models, rapidly assess opportunities, markets and associated risks, then use a gated methodology to provide resources for the best candidates then move them towards commercialization.

During this time, I was program manager for two consumer-related products, acted as team member for a new service offering initiative and provided consulting and guidance for teammates on several other projects.
