Wave Five - Fall 2007

Emily Tanczyn

School: Villanova University

Graduation: May 2008

Position: e-Marketing and Data Analytics

Why you chose DuPont:  DuPont is a strong company with a reputation for sustainability and innovation.  As Marketing becomes more dynamic, it was important for me to experience the realistic applications of the theories that I have learned in the classroom.  Such experience at a global company with a plethora of different business offerings is becoming essential within the current business climate and will build the foundation for my career in e-Marketing moving forward.

What you hope to gain: I hope to gain a greater understanding of the strategic and tactical implications of e-Marketing.  I am interested in gaining hands-on experience with measurable metrics tools, particularly relating to leads and key performance indicators.  Additionally, I expect to gain a pulse for the present and future of e-Marketing to further clarify my career aspirations.

Gloria Pleban

School: University of Delaware

Graduation: May 2008

Position: Tradeshows and Events

Why you chose DuPont:  Working at DuPont appealed to me on so many levels. I wanted to work for a company that strives to make people’s lives better. DuPont is a company that does just that, it pushes science to the extreme in order to create a better tomorrow. Additionally, DuPont has a vast array of businesses and fields to choose from. I knew that I would be able to find exactly what it was that I was passionate about.

What you hope to gain: I want to experience the pulse behind a tradeshow and learn what it takes to bring it to life. I expect this experience to shed on light on my future career path in sales.

Jessica Anasti

School: Villanova University

Graduation: May 2008---American Eagle Outfitters: Assistant Buyer Position

Position: Consumer Brand Management/Clear into the Future

Why you chose DuPont: Before I came to DuPont, I had enough credits to graduate a semester early, but I felt that I had no real marketing experience.  I also knew that I wanted to be taken seriously during an internship or co-op position so that I could really figure out which area of marketing I liked best. The DuPont Marketing Co-op Program allowed me to have real responsibilities like managing a local ad agency, presenting to the core team about messaging alterations and learning the ins and outs of a fortune 100 company.

What you hope to gain: I believe that during my time at DuPont I was able to investigate every area of marketing that interested me. By becoming involved with businesses across the Safety and Protection Platform I was able to determine a vision for my career.

Brad Eaton

School: LeBow College of Business, Drexel University

Graduation: June 2008

Position: Public Relations

Why you choose DuPont: Most co-op opportunities require students to be in support roles where they can have very little impact on the business.  At DuPont, we are given the responsibility to not only work on projects, but lead them.  We are encouraged to share our ideas and opinions.  And the best part is that we are given the chance to meet senior leaders, helping us build our network for the future.

What you hope to gain: I hope to use this experience to build the foundation for my career.  No matter where I end up in five to ten years and beyond, I am going to use the knowledge that I gain at DuPont to help me make better business decisions throughout my entire career.  And lastly, I hope to use this experience to give me an edge over other college graduates once I have earned my degree.
